Roast and Noodle Bar
• By Tuan Nguyen
A long time favourite of CBD lunch goers, the Roast and Noodle bar in Anthony Plaza Arcade offers authentic Asian style roast and steamed meats complete with a chef armed with a gigantic meat cleaver. When you go to a place that specialise in a few select dishes, you expect it to be mouth wateringly good. And good it is. Whenever I feel like rewarding my tummy, this is one of my go to places, it also helps that it's no more than 50 metres from my office. It's cheap too, which is always a good thing in my books. You can get a combo deal consisting of meat of your choice, steamed vegies, rice or noodles, soup and a can of drink for a paltry $12.
Roast pork belly FTW
I usually get the roast pork and BBQ pork combo. The highlight for me is definitely the succulent, juicy, fresh and tender roast pork belly. It just melts in your mouth. The BBQ pork is good as can be. I don't get the duck as I prefer to have my meat without bones in it. One day I might try the steamed chicken and rice combo, but I like to get mine elsewhere (stay tuned for a future review). The chicken and sweet corn soup isn't exactly great, being a bit on the thick gooey side, but one can't really complain for the price. Get there just before the lunch time rush of government employees to make sure you get served quickly and for extra fresh goodness. You can dine in with all noisy office workers, but I always prefer to savor the taste in the peace and tranquility of Brainium Labs headquarters, Darwin website design legends.
