Menu tasting at Curve Restaurant

Tandoori chicken, fried wontons, roast pork with apple sauce, stir fried prawns and vegetables

October is going to be a special time for me - I'm going to get married! Yes it is true my beloved readers, I've found someone willing to put up with all the fish tanks I have littered around the house. A lucky man I am. Our wedding reception venue will be held at the Medina Vibe Hotel at the Waterfront and we were invited along for a complimentary tasting last night at Curve Restaurant to get a glimpse of what will be on offer come the big day.

Yummy pavlova

We got the VIP treatment from our hostess Callie who was very friendly and attentive. She directed us to our table outside, making the most of the beautiful weather and magnificent views of the Waterfront, which surely has to be the best looking and serene area in all of Darwin. After our jug of ice tea was refilled without us even realising the first one was empty, our tasting plate arrived after a short wait. It consisted of fried wontons, tandoori chicken, roast pork with apple sauce and stir fried prawns with vegetables. I'm going to say the tandoori chicken was better than the one I've had at Hanuman which was too salty for my likes and the mini pavlova for dessert was absolutely melt-in-your-moth rockin' my socks off.

Everything was nice and gave us some ideas for our wedding menu, which will be buffet style to keep our guests happy and well fed. Nobody wants to go hungry at a wedding, especially me!

They've got a new head chef and I had a peek at their new dinner menu which features some nice dipping breads, tapas and seafood options (looks like the website hasn't updated the menu in ages so it still has the old one there) with most of the mains ranging between $25 and $35 from what I can recall. The lamb cutlets the table next to us smelt really good, and I was very tempted to pinch them when they weren't looking. Bring on the wedding (feast)!
