Bacon and Egg Chronicles: Xtreme Caffeine

Darwin's latest coffee shop/café to open, Xtreme Caffeine is all about "coffee the way it's meant to be - the way you like it". I've been walking past this place every day for the past few months waiting for it to open, the owner amusingly crossing out the July opening date on the window notice and scribbling August over the top. Finally the wait is over and the doors opened Monday morning.
My foodie source (AKA the boss lady, the one at work) tells me that the owner was also the guy originally behind Cyclone Café in Parap as well, meaning this place comes with high expectations to live up to. I haven't been to said café so I wasn't sure what to expect from this new venture, but now that it's open I have a chance to find out for myself.
Even with crappy tasting bread, the toastie itself was very impressive and I thought it may have topped the current champ from The Gourmet Deli given some white toast.
Today I got myself a white bread toastie to try out, however something happened inbetween Monday and today. The egg was over easy and the BBQ sauce didn’t taste as fancy. Nothing wrong with that, but I thought Monday’s was pretty smashing. I guess they’re sorting out their stuff in the first week of operation. It’s still a pretty good effort though, especially fo’ four dolla fiddy cent man.
Oh yeah, just about everyone else besides me is probably wanting to know how xtreme the caffeine here is. I'm no expert but I have to say my cappuccino was very smooth and the baldie barista didn't hold back on the chocolate on top. No girly drawings either, just straight up. Very nice. The others in the office who have tried it were also xtremely impressed too.
I haven't had lunch here yet, but they've got the usual array of open grills, sangas, salads and baked goodies at a decent price. I'm almost out of muesli bars and instant noodles in my work drawer, so it won't be long before I get some lunch here.
