Bacon and Egg Chronicles: The Office

Bacon and egg toastie

Since I've been working sooo hard this week, I thought I would reward myself and took a quick detour on the way to work to stop by The Office on Cavenagh Street.

When I went there for lunch a while ago I noticed they do a bacon and egg toastie for $7. Must be pretty good for that much I thought, so this morning I raided the coin tin and came up with the dosh to pay for my morning protein fix. It didn't take long for it to arrive and my gosh it looked beautiful. Fo' shizzle I ne'er saw true beauty till this morn. High top white bread, crisply toasted to perfection and sprinkled with green leafy glitter. This is the super model of the bacon and egg toastie world, mark my words.

Beauty is only skin deep, so what's on the inside? I counted 3 big n fat pieces of bacon and one egg. The former could have spent a little more time on the grill for my liking but the egg had just the right amount of runny-ness to it. With the size of the toastie I thought another egg would have balance the flavours a bit more. But by then then you'd have an absolute monolith for a sanga which would require a quick nanna nap afterwords, under the computer desk perhaps. Can't have it all I guess.

Totally delicious and much better than the bloody disgusting carrots I've been eating for breakfast the past two days. I still have a soft spot for the reigning champ over at The Gourmet Deli, but this one I'll slot into second place on my list closely behind.
