The Office - Breakfast
• By Tuan Nguyen
It's been a while since my last visit to The Office on Cavenagh Street. I believe it has actually changed owners at some stage since then, so I was wondering if the breakfast would still be any good. The answer is yes. For the small sum of $13, you can get eggs benedict on the fattest slices of crusty bread the world this side of Salvatores Cafe. Whilst bread isn't strictly traditional for this dish, I much prefer it over a puny English muffin. The sauce is delicious and the eggs poached perfectly. Well perhaps one of them was slightly under, but better under than over I say! Excellent value and very filling, I actually left a few bites on the plate.
The coffee was great, the foam was super duper and everything else as it should be. +1 brownie points for the freebie biscuit. It makes perfect drinking material whilst reading the latest Darwin Foodies review in Darwin Life Magazine.
My second visit later in the week I went poached eggs on toast with cooked tomatoes ($11). Again the eggs were poached beautifully, that's 4 from 4 so props to the chef. Open Monday to Saturday, The Office is well worth a visit for a chic breakfast experience - I looove the high ceilings and giant windows.
