Go Sushi Train

There isn't much choice for sushi in the Darwin CBD, you've got Takagi Sushi which I reviewed previously and Go Sushi Train which gets some lovin' today. They've been around many years now and have proven very popular with the lunch time crowd. Indeed, if you want to dine in you better get in before the 12 o'clock rush.

The Cav: Revisited

The new 'Cav is new again. They've updated their lunch menu my review posted back in September last year and it certainly looks the goods from first glance. There's a mix of cuisines in their with some Vietnamese inspired salads, tacos, salt and peper squid, burgers, pasta and steak.

The Bacon and Egg Chronicles: The Cav

The breakfast menu at The Cav has been given a tantalizing makeover with all sorts of breakfast goodies, eggs benedict, fry ups, coffee etc etc. Hungry with no food to eat, I waltzed in this morning to get me the bacon and egg toasted sandwich beast pictured above. Looks good...

Ayuriz Cafe

Completing my round-up of Indonesian curry lunches, can Ayuriz Cafe in the Darwin Central Hotel building provide the goods to best Sari Rasa and Sumatra Cafe? I stopped by for lunch twice last week to get the low down and to chow down on some curry.

Sumatra Cafe

Selamat siang! After reviewing Sari Rasa last week, I've decided to give some lovin' to the other Indonesian eats around the CBD. Today's lunch was at Sumatra Cafe, Anthony Plaza Smith Street Mall. Come lunch time, they're always full of eager curry fans so get in early to grab free table.

Sari Rasa - Authentic Indonesian Curries

Sari Rasa is one of Darwin's most unknown well known Indonesian restaurants. Serving authentic Indonesian curries and snacks for quite some time now, they've got a horde of loyal followers filling up the tables every lunch time.

Bacon and Egg Chronicles: Salvatores Cafe

Having arrived uber early at work today, I went for a little wonder around our beloved and incredibly sticky and humid city. Where haven't I been that does a made to order bacon and egg toasted sandwich? Salvatores Cafe sprung to mind.

Hingston Chinese Restaurant and Take Away

Hingstons, located at the Anula shops, has garnered a cult following over the years. It's out in the middle of nowhere, so only those in the know are aware of what a little gem it is – crappy looking joint but great food at a reasonable price.

Nirvana

Nirvana looks like a dungeon from the outside and not very inviting. Could there be giant ogres behind those big grey doors waiting to bash you over the head with a big wooden club? No not quite, just great Asian food.

Salvatores Café

Last weekend the missus and I wondered the city streets in search of breakfast, Table Forty Three looked like a good idea but we were too late so onwards we marched to Salvatores, one of Darwin's longest running cafes.

Xtreme Caffeine lunch

I feel sorry for the offices surrounding Xtreme Caffeine - the beautiful scent of coffee as you walk by is absolutely brilliant, teasing/torturing those souls all day long. The coffee doesn't just smell good though, I'm not expert but I believe it certainly brings some awesomeness to the table with creamy smoothness and lots of flavour.

Table Forty Three - Lunch

The work crew headed over to Table Forty Three at the Mantra Pandanus Hotel for a birthday lunch last Friday, the boss indicating that the food and ambiance was good. A quick look around reveals a very modern and classy interior, but the lunch menu is still thankfully priced at a level us plebs can afford.

Kurt's Cakes. Master of pastry and sugar.

Man was I excited to hear Kurt's Cakes would be moving out of the shoebox at the back of Bar Espresso! This guy has become a cult hero among cake and pastry fans in Darwin, impressing the hordes with creations ranging from cute mini tarts/pastries and all the way to epic wedding cakes

Lunch at The Roma Bar

The boss man came back from lunch one day raving about his lunch at The Roma Bar. So a few days later I wondered over from my office and plonked myself down beside the window, on a mission to find out what he was raving on about.

Eat at Martin's, one for the vegetarians

To me, Eat at Martin's in Coconut Grove has always been a mythical land of vegetarian and gluten free delights, hidden somewhere in the awesome suburb of Coconut Grove and well frequented by those in the know. Am I going to like it given my strong tendencies towards meat?

Bar Espresso

Conveniently located across the road from Hoggies and adjoining Ducks Nuts, Bar Espresso is a popular coffee stop for those in that part of the Darwin CBD. After dinner one night, we decided to head on over for a late night caffeine hit and a chin wag with some friends.

Four Birds. For the love of food.

Four Birds seemed to have rapidly gained a cult following and it is easy to see why. Great coffee, delicious and exciting food. The young ladies there certainly have created something special that isn't your ordinary run of the mill cafe like so many that have come before it.

Cafe Bellissimo – A little taste of Italy!

There are two options for food at Jape Homemaker Village - Waterfall Cafe and Cafe Bellissimo. I've always eaten at the former, but today the lady and I felt like being a little adventurous and decided to try out the latter after hearing positive comments from various sources.
